“Do you ever go back home?”

Whenever I’m asked that, I don’t know how to respond. I was born in Pittsburgh, but I haven’t lived there in nearly 15 years and I rarely go there. Too many ghosts for me.

My family all moved to Florida, but I’ve never lived there, so that doesn’t feel like “home.”
.
We lived in Brooklyn for nearly 10 years, but it never felt permanent since we were always dodging rent increases and shitty apartments that we never decorated, so I guess that’s out.

Rochester doesn’t feel like “home” either, more like “base camp” in between our travels.

I can say, though, that there is one “home” to me, and that’s with this guy. My husband is the only thing that feels like “home” wherever I go. #10freakingyears

Okay, here we go....Excoriation. It's a symptom of anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder where you'll compulsively pick at your skin.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I pick at the skin around my nails whenever I'm supposed to be sitting quietly. It most often happens over the weekend while my husband and I are watching movies together. By Sunday I'll have band-aids on multiple fingers because I've picked the skin raw.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's not pretty, and it especially sucks when I have to take photographs of my hands for the vintage jewelry, but it's something I deal with.

When I remember to, I'll usually have my fidget cube or a piece of citrine rock (that has been worn down so it fits perfectly in my palm between my fingers) to focus my fingers on, but it's always a work in progress.
